Greetings! Lorraine Coyle writing from Toronto, Canada where I live. My introduction to music began as a young girl in 1964 when Beatlemania seized us all in North America. Things boldly progressed with me hitchhiking from Toronto to the fabled city of San Francisco in the summer of 1967! What an incredible Mecca it was. You could casually walk through Golden Gate Park and often see Jefferson Airplane or Big Brother and the Holding Company playing live outdoors for free...how could one know then what an influence Janis Joplin would become (on me especially). At that time it was quite the norm to see bands like The Doors, Procol Harum, Jimi Hendrix, Country Joe and Quicksilver performing in the local clubs and theaters. Oh, the dancing...the technicolor concert posters...the live music at the Fillmore...

And then there was the late '60's rock scene here in Toronto. While I was away, my hometown was fast becoming the best concert city in the world. I returned in '69 to find the "Rock 'n' Roll Revival" coming to Toronto's Varsity Arena. This concert was a musical peace rally organized by John Lennon & the Plastic Ono Band and it featured some of Lennon's biggest rock 'n' roll heroes like Bo Diddley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Chuck Berry, Little Richard and Gene Vincent as well some more contemporary artists like Eric Clapton and The Doors all on one stage! The ticket price? $5.00...and I was there! In the early '70's, it was not at all unusual to see people like Todd Rundgren or Alice Cooper squeezing into some of the latest velvet fashions at Long John's clothing shop. So many of them would be hanging around downtown in the midst of performing or recording, practically living in Toronto's hotels for months. And who can forget those nights at the tiny Gasworks nightclub? We'd just be casually hanging out when a little unknown power rock trio would drive in from the suburbs every week to break the sound barrier. Their name was Rush, and if you were expecting to have any kind of conversation with your friends that night, forget it. It was a little surprising when I heard one day that Rush were headlining sold out shows at Maple Leaf Gardens, but to their credit they were always great, just LOUD!

I recently visited the wonderful Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland [see pic] and there I saw much more than a museum. I saw some of the best days of my life sitting there motionless on mannequins and pedestals and it made me sad. That's why I couldn't be more excited to now represent Matthew D. Guarnere and his timeless, passionate music. M.D.G. reminds me so much of the time when music wasn't just considered to be product or merely a bump in the road towards superstardom, it was a way of life. I can personally guarantee that Matthew D. Guarnere is genuine in his musical dedication and spirit. Simply put, he is REAL.

Have a great day and take care everybody!
